Founder & CEO at OSIER
Theresa
Theresa is a child of the 90’s, growing up in an entrepreneurial family. Her parents run a company in the renewable energy sector, which engraved sustainable values, a strong desire to make a change in our world along with entrepreneurial spirit into Theresa.
What inspired you to start OSIER?
OSIER combines my quest to live an authentic life with my desire to have a positive impact on the world around me.
She goes on to say: “I always wanted to run my own business and combine my passion for conscious fashion with my desire for a better world. It’s such a gift when you’re able to work on what you truly believe in!”.
What does the name ‘OSIER’ represent?
OSIER is a word derived from French, meaning ‘willow tree’.
In various mythologies the willow tree represents the female rhythm of life and is linked to the cycle of the moon. This association speaks to me and my intention to live an authentic life, guided by intuition.
Head of Design
Adina
Adina grew up in Timișoara, Romania in a courtyard surrounded by all kind of beautiful animals. We also had a vegetable garden where my grandparents thought me how to recognise and take care of different plants.
I studied art in my high school until the 10th grade when I specialised in fashion. I remember creating tiny clothes for my dolls with my grandmother using her very old sewing machine and taking such a great pleasure in that as a child.
After finishing my Bachelor and my Master in fashion design
I realised this industry doesn’t needs more disposable fashion collections but innovative and unique ways of
dealing with the customers needs.
What inspires you?
I take inspiration from the beauty found in nature, such as the carefully shaped layers in a rock or the organic waves found on an abandoned shell.
How do you imagine the fashion industry will look in the future?
More kind. More conscious. More transparent. More Innovative.
Creative Director
Laura
Laura is a photographer, illustrator and writer from Amsterdam. And most all all, she's always been a bit of a dreamer. When Laura was five she was writing fantasy novels. Now she's creating art and photograph campaigns for the ones who think and dream big, working towards a more sustainable and conscious future.
What’s the source of your creativity?
Inspiration is everywhere! I get inspired by conversations, the books I read, things happening worldwide, nature, my daily routines, sunsets, relationships, unanswered questions about the universe, the moon.
And if we’re talking about what the core of my creativity is, then I suppose I’d say art is a wordless language that everyone understands. I feel we all carry some kind of responsibility to use our skills to better the world, especially people in privileged positions like myself. My way of doing that is creation.
Besides sustainability, what values do you stand for?
My love for this planet and all the living beings on it is what drives me to fight for the things I believe in. I guess this means I value equality and respect most. In my work that translates into ethics. Ethical production, diversity and trying to push my ideals in every environment I find myself in. In a world where everyone is treated equal and with respect, I think a lot of other problems we run into today would work itself out.
