OSIER began its story a few years ago when founder, Theresa, noticed the gap in the market for truly luxury, quality accessories within ethical fashion. We are proud to set the bar high and work hard to match sustainability with ethical practice to create beautiful vegan bags.
Ethical Enterprise
At OSIER we do our best for the animals and the planet. Our mission is to revolutionise the fashion industry with a focus on sustainability, transparency and quality. We ensure to prioritise these values throughout all of our practices, from sourcing to manufacturing and packaging.
To start from the beginning, we use only vegan, eco-conscious materials within all of our products and productions. Our current collection includes lux, soft vegan elements combined with apple waste biomaterial that give the feeling of faux vegan "leather". We also use soft recycled lining fabrics and organic cotton dust bags, all made in Italy. Our manufacture is based solely in Europe between our head office in Amsterdam and our talented tight-knit team of machinists and designers in Bucharest, Romania. Keeping things local is important to our CO2 compensation pledge, and making every move possible to help our planet.
We compensate the CO2 that is released through the making of our bags with green wind energy.
And we haven’t left anything out. Even our packaging is 100% recycled with no plastic in sight! Our OSIER boxes are made to measure for each of our bags, meaning no wasteful filling material.
Take a look into our manufacturing process
When manufacturing in the European Union, factories like ours have to meet certain standards to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the factory workers, meet environmental requirements and ensure the quality of all products that are being made.
- ISO 9001 (Quality Management) - Meaning our factory gets screened on the quality of their production process and the final products and is fully qualified on this aspect.
- ISO 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Certification) - Which means that our factory gets evaluated on it’s health and safety management and is fully qualified to manufacture under safe conditions.
- ISO 14001 (Environmental management) - Which means the factory is screened on the working conditions and pollution in the factory and is fully qualified on this aspect.
- The factory works within the framework set up by SEDEX.
Sedex is home to one of the world's largest collaborative platforms for sharing responsible sourcing data on supply chains, used by more than 55000 members.
Making an impact
As we continue to grow we are committed to giving back. We’ve started the ball rolling early with The Ocean Clean Up. This inspiring non-profit organisation is based right here in the The Netherlands. They work to develop innovative and advanced technologies which combat the overwhelming levels of plastics within our oceans. Currently they are cleaning the Great Pacific Garbage Patch over in California, one of the most polluted areas of the world.
